“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”

It’s a great saying and one that I try to follow. Sadly I don’t always manage it.

Last night I was expressing some opinions in an IRC channel when it struck me that I was violating that saying. Big time!

On any project I have a low opinion of people who express strongly held opinions but are unwilling to spend any time or effort to help. Sadly, it’s not an uncommon behaviour to witness. So, when I realised that I was acting in such a way I decided to act and left the channel!

Strange how liberating it makes you feel to “do the right thing”. Must try and do it more often 🙂
