SMTP?

Another round of someone piece of software somewhere sending mail pretending to be from a domain my mail server hosts… I strongly believe the problems of email won’t be solved by “tweaking” SMTP but by replacing SMTP with a modern, secure replacement. I’ve heard of A, href=”http://amtp.bw.org/”>AMTP but that seems as though it’s dead. Anyone know of any others out there on the horizon?
