One of the most annoying aspects of using Gnome & FreeBSD is the connectivity with external devices. getting the iPod working was quite quick, but I’m still not able to get my Palm working. Reading through posts on the subjectI found through web searches seems to show that connecting a Palm isn’t straightforward and many people report never getting it to work. Many cite the lack of information that Palm make available, which seems all too familiar given the problems I’ve had with the nVidia hardware.

I’ve been tempted to junk the nVidia motherboard in favour of one from another manafacturer that will work fully as I see no point in thinking that nVidia will ever release the details needed to get it fully working under FreeBSD. While this may be acceptable by some for a graphics card (it isn’t to me) I see no way that it can ever be considered acceptable for motherboards.
