My laptop has bluetooth, my mobile has bluetooth. So they should be able to communicate. Seems simple enough. I’ve done it in windows XP, but never tried it under FreeBSD until today. I figured that as the support has been around for a while there would be some useful little applications to smooth the way for it all to just work. Sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case.
The handbook was it’s usual helpful self and it didn’t take long to get to a point where I had bluetooth enabled and was able to see the laptop from my phone. Running the appropriate commands from a terminal confirmed that freeBSD could see the phone. It was able to get it’s name and said it established a connection. Beyond that the commands failed.
